FIRST BLOG POST- WELCOME!

Hey there,

If you’re reading this, thank you, thank you so much for stopping by. My name’s AJ (@WelzyWelz on Twitter) and I LOVE to write! I think it’s the most beautiful form of art there is. Now, that’s a lot coming from me considering how long thoughts and ideas on what I want to achieve with content on this blog have tossed back and forth in my head- coupling that with the AMOUNT OF TIME it’s taken to churn out my very first post. But we’re finally here-and there’s certainly no going back!

I’d love to give you a blow-by-blow account of everything there is to know about me- but hold your horses, we have forever to go. Yes, I do intend to write for the rest of my life- not full-time or professionally, but from one blog post to another and perhaps author a book some day. Speaking of profession (which is about the only truly personal detail about myself I’m revealing today), I’m currently studying at the Nigerian Law School trying to get this education so I can finally practise- bruh, I’ve been waiting for this my whole life!

Back to the blog, I plan to share everything there is to share with you- food, fashion, lifestyle, advice, music, politics, education and, of course, personal experiences! There might (or might not be) guest writers from time to time- just in case, you get tired of reading my rants every single week. I doubt very much that’s going to happen though. And yes, I’m putting my money where my mouth is. LOL.

So, why should you come back after this? There are tons of reasons why you should have ‘COANG’ bookmarked tbh! For starters, I plan to keep it real with you. No sugar coating, no shying away from the truth- just content 100% the way I see it.  I'll also be sharing a lot of my experiences, past and present, so you'll get to see a lot of things through my eyes- meaning, where I've messed up, you hopefully won't have to make the same mistakes (and here, I really am referring to restaurant choices, if I'm honest. Lol.
Okay, not really- relax!). You're also very welcome to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have! Sold yet?

Thank you so much for starting this journey with me, I really hope we walk through it together. I hope I get to meet some, if not all, of you. I hope we both grow. I hope you also let me into your lives- because I want you in mine. But most importantly, I hope I’m able to add something to yours.

Navigating the Emotional Rollercoaster of a Career Switch

So, here we are, dearest reader- four (or so) months into the craziest decision of my life: leaving a thriving, well-defined career path in Law to start anew in the uncharted territory of Investment Banking, brimming with the monsters of dizzying Excel spreadsheets and the dragons of PowerPoint designs. Dear Remi, Until you, I didn’t know it was possible to love a friend this much- purely, platonically, and purposefully. I guess it’s almost the same way a Mother meets her new born in the flesh and immediately feels an inexplicable depth of love she hadn’t previously thought possible.
